StoryLight Privacy Policy

StoryLight is a family reading app published by Stoikk. This policy explains what information the app processes, why it is used, and the choices available to families.
Information we process
- Anonymous account information: a randomly generated device key, internal account identifiers, authentication tokens, and basic device and app information used to keep a session active.
- Child profiles supplied by a parent or guardian: a display name, age range, optional gender, selected interests, reading companion, reminder preferences, and time zone.
- Reading activity: story progress, completed stories, reading time, and related in-app activity.
- Diagnostics and analytics: app interactions, crash reports, performance data, app version, operating system, and device identifiers collected through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
How we use information
We use this information to provide the story library, create and restore profiles, remember reading progress, show parent-area statistics, personalize the reading experience, secure the service, diagnose crashes, and improve reliability. StoryLight does not display advertising and does not sell personal information.
Service providers
We use hosting and database providers to operate the StoryLight service and Google Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration. These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. If paid features become available, Google Play and RevenueCat may process purchase and entitlement information; payment card details are handled by the store and are not received by StoryLight.
Children and family use
StoryLight is designed for use with a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian supplies and manages child-profile information. The app does not require a child to provide an email address, phone number, or social-media account.
Storage, security, and retention
Information is transmitted using encrypted connections. Authentication tokens are stored in protected device storage. We keep account, profile, and reading data while it is needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained according to the settings of the relevant service provider.
Your choices
You may stop further collection by uninstalling the app. A parent or guardian may request access to or deletion of account and child-profile information by contacting us. Because accounts are anonymous, we may ask for the device or account identifier shown in the app so that we can locate the correct record.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its services change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
