StoryLight Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern use of the StoryLight mobile application and related services provided by Stoikk. By using StoryLight, a parent or guardian agrees to these terms on behalf of themselves and any child who uses the app under their supervision.

Family use

StoryLight is a family reading application intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Children should use the app with appropriate adult supervision. The parent or guardian is responsible for the information entered into child profiles and for activity performed through the device.

Reading content

StoryLight provides educational stories and reading tools. The content is offered for general educational and family-reading purposes. It is not a substitute for professional religious, educational, medical, legal, or other advice.

Accounts and acceptable use

The app creates an anonymous device-based account so reading progress and profiles can be restored on that device. You agree not to misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, reverse engineer protected service components, or use the app in violation of applicable law.

Subscriptions and purchases

Paid features are currently unavailable unless they are explicitly offered in the app. If subscriptions or in-app purchases become available, the price, billing period, trial terms, and renewal information will be shown before purchase. Purchases are processed by the applicable app store and are subject to its payment and refund rules. Available purchases can be restored from the app.

Intellectual property

StoryLight, its software, original illustrations, branding, and original editorial material are owned by Stoikk or used with permission. These terms grant a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for family reading. They do not transfer ownership of the app or its content.

Service availability

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of StoryLight. We work to keep the service reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Features may differ by platform, region, app version, or device capability.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, StoryLight is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Stoikk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how StoryLight processes information. It forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the app, service, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means the updated terms apply.
